Using AI to Streamline your Writing Process
AI has become quite handy these days, and I must admit that I’m using Notion AI to write this blog. It’s pretty cool, don’t you think? However, there’s a twist: the draft of this blog is filled with grammar that doesn’t make sense, words that are misspelled, and TKs.
If you want to upgrade your writing skills in a short time, you’re on the right path. Continue reading this blog as I break down my writing routine.
Note that I am using Notion A.I. commands to write my essay, but you can use any AI machine like Bing AI. Just write the commands I am about to mention in the blog.
Step One: Write a Ridiculous Draft
It doesn’t matter if that draft has a lot of grammar that doesn’t make sense, words that are misspelled, or is filled with TKs because you’ve run out of ideas. Just write what is on your mind and move on.
Step Two: Reread your Draft
I know we’re using AI here, but sometimes AI doesn’t have your emotions or your brain, which may lead to miscommunication when you tell it to “Improve this” or “Make it longer.” It will put jumbled words that will ruin your point. So, reread the essay, replace your TKs, and ignore your grammar and spelling.
The rule of thumb here is to make your draft make sense and pin down your point. Don’t make it complicated, for AI might have some trouble in the next steps.
Step Three: “Fix Spelling and Grammar”
Once you’re satisfied and have made your point clear in your essay, it’s time to get rid of those nasty mistakes by clicking your spacebar and selecting “Fix Spelling and Grammar” (again, I’m using Notion AI). In other AI platforms like ChatGPT or Bing AI, let’s type in our command “Fix Spelling and Grammar,” copy and paste your text, and AI will do the rest.
Step Four: “Improve this”
If something needs to be improved or if you’re not satisfied with the way of writing, hit your spacebar and click “Improve this.” In other platforms, let’s type in the command “Improve this,” copy and paste your text, and then click enter.
Step Five: “Make Longer”
If your text is too short, or if you’re not satisfied with the word count, or there is a certain word count you need to follow, hit your spacebar and click the command “Make Longer.” If you’re in another AI platform, let’s type in “Make Longer,” copy and paste your text, and then click enter. Please note that your text will only make sense once you’ve followed Step Two in this blog.
Step Six: “Summarize”
This step is completely optional, but if you’re stuck for a conclusion, hit your spacebar and click “Summarize.” Notion AI will summarize your text for you in seconds. When you’re using another AI platform, let’s type in “Summarize,” copy and paste your text, hit enter, and voila! You have a conclusion.
Using AI tools such as Notion AI, ChatGPT, or Bing AI can be a great way to improve your writing skills in a short amount of time. By following the steps outlined in this blog, you can quickly turn a ridiculous draft into a polished piece of writing that makes sense and effectively communicates your point. While AI may not always have the same emotional or cognitive understanding as a human, it can still be a valuable tool in the writing process. So give it a try and see how it works for you!
